I can only eat about 1/4 cup of meat at a time. Then 10 min later I am dry

heaving. But I can eat 1/2 cup of eggs, cottage cheese and yogurt. then I am

still hungry 2 hours later. My binder says I should try and eat more Protein.< /span>

but I can only eat a small amount of meat for example, chicken, meat balls, meat

loaf, salmon. the binder also says to eat very slowly, take 20 then if you are

not still hungry eat more. Should I start that? Any suggestions could help. I am

also sleeve 4.5 weeks ago.

That sounds contrary to what my surgeon told me, but it sounds like there are a lot of different eating plans out there. My surgeon said to eat until you feel satisfied (NOT full) and then stop. He said do NOT wait a short while until you feel like you can eat more and then finish it, but if 2 or 3 hours later you feel hungry, eat again. He said "let your pouch be your guide."

I'm not on meat yet - but I do find that the more 'solid' the food, the less of it I am able to eat. Are you using any Protein supplements? I don't really love the shakes, but I have been doing 1 a day. The cottage cheese has a good bit of Protein. I don't know what kind of yogurt you are eating, but the Greek yogurt (I like Chobani) has more protein than regular yogurt.

I could have shaved meats.. but not meatballs or anything dense like that.. but all plans are different.. try not eating as much.. I found that also the dry dense stuff made my stomach hurt.. but the more wet foods did not.. and my plan says to eat small meals thru out the day but mine are very small and I keep under 800 cal a day and make my Protein each day and drink a lot of Water or crystal light is good too... and do you take an antacid? sometimes it could be that too. check with your doc.. I had some weird side aches and incisions pains... turns out I was over doing it and wrote me note for work to take is easy for the next 3 weeks even tho im post op from dec 20. my jobs require quite a bit of work.. so I go to him if I dont feel right..and he is so understanding about it.. since this is all new to all of us.. he always tells me if I dont feel right..then come in and he and the nurse will see me.. so keep in touch with your doc. best of luck to you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
