Wow! I'm exactly one week post op and I still can't get in enough liquids. I can't even imagine taking a bite of food. I see my dr today & I'm hoping he will let me move onto Protein Drinks, creamy things because the clear liquid stage has been bad. All clear Soups, broths are ok and I can manage maybe 3 or 4 small sips off a teaspoon and then the next time I heat some broth and i smell it the nausea hits & the dry heaving begins.

You want to be careful because your sleeve is at its most fragile right now' date=' but I'm not going to beat you over the head with that but you surely realize doing this increased your risks for complications.

Can I ask you an unrelated question though? How come you type with capitalization on the first letter of every word? Totally random, I was just curious.[/quote']

Lol Just A Habit I Guess. Been Doing That Since I Was Like 16.

I could start having the full liquids like the strained black bean Soup and creamed Soups on day 7

You're almost there! ;)

If you can already do full liquids then you can start now :)

All surgeons are different

Please do not eat this at 4 days out. Do you have a NUT or surgeon you can contact. At 6 days out you should still be on full liquids. Follow your eating plan and do your self a favour and don't stray from it. You could do yourself harm if you do. No broccoli soup either, you can't have broccoli yet.

PPI is a proton pump inhibitor like Nexium, Prilosec and Previcid. They are long acting gastric acid inhibitors....antacids.

The strained black bean is just the broth and the broccoli Soup is cream of broccoli.

Also I told her to start it when she was on full liquids not sooner. Just to clarify!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
