bkwalling 0 Posted November 20, 2006 :) :clap2: I AM APPROVED FOR MY LAB BAND SURGERY I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER OF THIS SITE FOR A WHILE JUST NEVER POST I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO HAVE LAP BAND SINCE JULY AND I FINALLY GOT APPROVED TODAY IT HAS BEEN A LONG PROCESS BUT VERY WORTH IT I GO TOMMORROW TO SEE WHEN MY SURGERY IS I CAN NOT WAIT OH AND I HAVE A QUESTION I HAVE BEEN ON DIET pills FOR 3 YRS AND WAS TOLD TO STOP TAKING THEM 2 WKS PRIOR TO SURGERY WHICH I HAD PLANNED ON DOING ANYWAYS BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY DIET PILLS AND SURGERY ARE BAD I AM HAVING THIS SURGERY TO FREE MY LIFE OF DIET PILLS AN YO YO DIETS BUT EVERY SINCE MY SURGEON SAID MAKE SURE TO STOP THE DIET PILLS 2 WKS PRIOR THAT SCARES ME BECAUSE I AM AFRAID SINCE I HAVE BEEN ON THEM SO LONG THEY WILL NOT BE OUT OF MY SYSTEM IN TWO WKS JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU BRILLANT SUPPORTERS THINK OH AND BY THE WAY THANKS FOR YOU SUPPORT ON THE LONG WAIT FOR APPROVAL I LOVE THIS SITE KHRISTINA Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
juliegeraci 7 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi Khristina, I know there are some doctors out there that let you use diet pills. Does yours want you to stop? If so, you will be okay. I think you will find (probably after you start getting fills) that you will have less hunger. The beauty of the band is less hunger and more satisfaction. Good luck with your surgery. wootsie73 0 Posted November 21, 2006 Congradulations on your approval! I'm so happy for you. Now for the diet pill thing, this could be a huge issue for you. What kind of diet pills are you taking? The reason I'm asking is because I'm an RN and I'm a little concerned about withdrawal symptoms. You can send me a private message if you would like, but it may be very difficult for you to get off of them since you have been on them for so long. I'm sure your surgeon knows what's going on, so follow his advise. The pills should be out of your system in 2 weeks, but you may have some terrible side effects when youu stop taking them.
