Sleeved Veterans- Need your input.

Recommended Posts

Hi All- I am two weeks out and feeling well. I wanted to run my daily intake by some veteran sleevers to see if I am on the right track. Im still on full liquids/some puree's. I want to make sure im eating what I need to optimize my weight loss.

1 cup plain greek yogurt mixed with 1 scoop Syntrax chocolate Protein Powder

2 eggs pureed w 1 tbsp greek yogurt and 1/4 tsp mustard

1/4c pea Soup with 1 tsp ff sour cream

1/4c skim ricotta cheese w 1 tbsp Tomato sauce & garlic powder

I ate these things over the course of 1 day with about 2-3 hours in between

I drank 69 oz Water or flavored water beverage

600 cals and 64g protein

good? bad? too much? not enough?

thanks for the input

I don't particularly see an issue. I was on liquids for 2 weeks then purees for 2 and then soft for 2. My calorie intake didn't get to 600 until I was on softs. Every Dr. has a different approach though. If you nutritionist is signing off on what you are eating and how much, I would think that would be the best guide. On this board you'll get a myriad of answers.

Honestly?

I can say great job that you're tracking. I can say it looks like you're making good food choices.

But the only way to know your optimal diet and caloric goal is to track and watch for patterns. What worked for me won't necessarily work for you and you'll find as many different and varied approaches to diet here as you'll find members.

I think you're on the right track. As you progress farther out track your progress and fiddle with your diet (adding in more Protein here or more carbs there) to try and find your optimal diet. Often it's a larger window than we realize. I lost just as well eating 700-900 calories with about 70 grams of carbs daily as I lost eating 400-500 calories a day and eating 40 grams of carbs or less. Same pokey pace, far less mental struggle due to carb deprivation for me. :)

You'll find what works best for you and should stick there.

Good luck,

~Cheri

Now you're being evil. I'm going to refer all PMers that I can't help from personal experience directly to you. :)

Actually after 4 months on this forum, when I posted this it was in hope that Cheri would be one of the responders. I alwAys value her logical, straightforward input. And she is kind, which is helpful to a newbie.

I'm also grumpy sometimes. You've got to catch me on my good days. ;)

Best of luck, really. I wish that there WAS a one-size approach because it would make things so much easier. Just don't be afraid to experiment and don't be afraid to add in calories or carbs or Protein if that's what your body needs.

You're off to a great start and should do really well.

Il love that you are putting good carbs into your diet. So many people make the mistake of grouping all carbs into the bad category. I also really like the fact that you are avoiding white carbs.

Great choice in using a super high quality Protein like the nectar line. One thing I'd like to address is the combination of Greek yogurt & Protein Powder. 1cup of Greek yogurt is about 25g protein(depending on brand), and a scoop of nectar is 23g. Totaling up to 48g of Protein. Unfortunately this is considerably more than your body can utilize in one sitting. The most your body can utilize at one time is 27g (many people round that out to 30). I'd really like to see that 48g split into 2 servings so that you can receive full benefit from what you consume.

Great planning & great tracking. Enjoy the journey, you deserve it.

Youre so right! I thought about that! I couldn't eat a full cup of yogurt at one time if I wanted to. I break it into two servings so hopefully my body uses it all. Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
