FEELING TO GOOD TO BE TRUE

Recommended Posts

Was sleeved yesterday at 830 am and I feel pretty darn good, now it's not even been 24 hours yet but hey this is great. I'm I safe or can things turn for the worse? Anyone go from great to poor?

Just stay hydrated. And walk. I'm feeling weak today (post op day 4) and have felt lightheaded & dizzy, my tummy hurts if I drink too much. Just keep sipping small sips every 1-2 minutes. I wish you tons of success!!

you are still medicated too... so you cant feel everything yet... today or tomorrow you may feel like you've been hit in the gut with a bat... the feeling of being able to drink a lot is all in your head.... if you can do a half a medicine cup you will be doing a lot better than I could....

most important thing right now is to sip ( stay hydrated) and walk...

Good news indeed. I was sleeved on Monday, and was out of the hospital after 28 hours. Boy, they sure don't let you sleep there. I feel good, over did walking on day 3, so I needed to take a dose of pain meds. Felt groggy after that, yesterday was good, but I find that I am having a hard time now choking down the Protein shakes.

Any advice?

They are saying I need to stay until Sunday. If I stay feeling this good I can't imagine why however I do have a lot of wires and monitors hooked on me.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
