SqueakyWheel&Ethyl 160 Posted May 6, 2013 I didn't have a drain. I see lots of people had one, though. Which side? The one that they pulled the stomach out of (my left side)?
JShaw 22 Posted May 6, 2013 My drain was on my left side and I was sent home with it. It was a ginormous pain in the arse. I took a dosage of pain med (1 oxycodone) about an hour before my dr. appt. I thank God my husband insisted on me taking it. I chatted through the whole thing. Why be in pain if you don't have to?! I am now almost 2 weeks out and if I could just get rid of this ridiculous gas bubbling around my body. ARG!
Paula/KS 4 Posted May 6, 2013 Mine is on my right side. I am glad you mentioned taking pain meds before going to the dr.
QweenNique 44 Posted May 6, 2013 Speaking of the drain pouch' date=' how do they remove it. Do they just pull it out and what about the hole left afterwards? I cant wait for it to be removed.[/quote'] Oh my I didn't have any drains thanks heavens my pain was associated with where my band port was located so it was extremely tender and plus my doc took out fat. What were the drains for? Did everyone have them? 1 ShanBan reacted to this

What were the drains for? Did everyone have them? I didn't have the band, I had the sleeve so I'm not sure if all band surgeries do not require the drain or if its at the dr's discretion even with the sleeve but I did have the drain on my right side
aparker28110 7 Posted May 6, 2013 Mine is on my right side. I am glad you mentioned taking pain meds before going to the dr. Mine was on the right side too and taken out at the hospital while I was still on pain meds and still was pretty painful

So much easier on sleeve. Protein Shakes are no problem getting down with liquids. I just want to start with eggs soon. I see my NUT on Wed. Still in Stage 2 I am going to try cream of chicken Soup for dinner. Can anyone tell me how to find the FB page and can I bee added? mtpatter@me.com

jd1988 10 Posted May 6, 2013 Hey I have some questions about eating.. I was sleeved on the 30th... I am suppose to eat puréed food 4 to 6 times a day 2 Protein Shakes and 48 ounces of water... And I'm having a hard time eating and drinking all this...so far today I had 2 ounces of egg beaters 1 Protein Shake and about 10 ounces of Water ... I really am afraid that I will dehydrate... I just don't feel like eating or drinking... My starting weight was 278 now I'm 254. I also don't want to hit a plateau either

That counts as a liquid and so does sugar free Popsicles.
