Hello vsg friends,

I just hit 4 weeks post op and I have never been soooooo tired. I've heard that this is normal, but what can I do? I know I'm not supposed to have caffeine...so what have you all done to get through it when you just can't go to sleep because you have to go to work etc.

On another note...Is it normal...one day to be super hungry and the next just not feel like drinking/eating anything. I woke up this morning not being able to finish my shake...a shake by the way I have every morning...I don't know whats up.

For me the tired thing was pretty much over by 4 weeks or so. But by then I was probably eating around 800 calories a day so I might want to try that...

Oh and I my NUT is fine with caffeine. I drink coffee in the am in the afternoon if I need it.

Also, I am hungry all the time. It sucks.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
