VSGKirk 855 Posted February 28, 2013 I want to thank everyone on this site that have been so supportive and have provided me with hours of entertainment when it was really important for me to connect with people who knew exactly what I was going through. I want to thank those who have enough confidence to reach out to me for advice and are genuinely appreciative of what I have to say. I want to thank my employer for being so supportive and providing me the financial means to actually be able to afford this surgery and take a genuine interest in my well-being. I want to thank my skilled surgeon for taking such good care of me and has always made sure I never felt like I was left on my own to figure things out. I want to thank my partner of nearly 9 years for supporting me through this process unconditionally because he knew this felt like a matter of life-and-death to me. I want to thank me... well, for once doing something for me, no one else...

VSGKirk 855 Posted February 28, 2013 LOL!! I am just feeling the high of attending a business dinner at one of Seattle's top restaurants (Tom Douglas' Serious Pie) and was able to watch ppl drink fine wine, eat 9 varietes of brick oven pizzas and dessert and was completely content with my conversations and Water. I could have eaten, but I thought it all lacked Protein. So my very first thought was not that of deprivation or feeling left out. It was me putting me first and choosing (happily) to wait until I got home to eat something that would help me reach my nutrition goals for the day. It was empowering....for which, I am grateful!
