leviz79 0 Posted February 27, 2013 Can anybody recommend a daily Vitamin for after surgery and a Protein Shake, I'm a 34 year old man.
Khloé 89 Posted February 27, 2013 I'm a 25 year old woman, which is a far cry from a 34 yr old man, but I decided to home in anyway. My surgeon has me on the Bariatric Advantage crystals that dissolve in Protein drinks post-op for the first 3 weeks. I'll be able to take regular chewables after that time. Centrum vites are good but ill be sticking with the Bariatric Advantage. Make sure whatever you use is a "Complete" Vitamin.
Khloé 89 Posted February 27, 2013 And as far as Protein goes, you may want to buy sme samples to see hat you like. You can get them from BJ'S Bariatric and My bariatric pantry sites, just to name a few. Good luck! I'm still in the sampling phase myself.
joatsaint 2,814 Posted February 27, 2013 I didn't take any Vitamins the 1st week, but on the 2nd week I was able to swallow whole pills. I am taking the generic Wal-mart men's Vitamin, sub-lingual B-12 and (2) 500 mg Calcium Citrate pills daily. I have been drinking the EAS carb advantage chocolate fudge from Wal-mart (4 for $5) since the 1st week. They taste very good, like thin chocolate milk, just a tiny bit grainy. NewKristen 356 Posted February 27, 2013 Can anybody recommend a daily Vitamin for after surgery and a Protein shake' date=' I'm a 34 year old man.[/quote'] My doctor prescribes Flinstone's chewables twice a day until you are 6 week out. She says after that to take an adult Vitamin like Centrum (they have a male version). The Bariatric Advantage Vitamins are really good, but they are pretty pricey. So, I'm stuck. Good thing is there is a local pharmacy that sells them cheaper than what you pay for on the BA site.
