Slight chest congestion. NOOOO!

Recommended Posts

Woke up this morning and noticed a little phlem in my throat/top of lungs that comes up when I growl. . I wouldn't be AS worried about missing my surgery in 3 days if It wasnt a mx surgery with a 550.00 flight that leves on Friday march 1st.

Please pray for me and tell me what I can do to prevent it from getting worse or to make it go away! Please! I've been waiting on this moment since last may and ill be crushed if this doesn't work out for me! I'm so darned excited and I seriously doubt dh would let me spend on a flight again. He's also already gotten his time off, etc

I personally am snowed in with 6 kids home from school, but my dh can run to the store for anything that might help. Or I can try to get to the dr or something.

I wonder if my stress is compromising my health. :(

Thank you! I might have chamomile *in some of my teas, but my chamomile tea is gone. I have whey Protein, of course. Hehe. Just ran out I steel cut oats and I'm doing the low carb PRE op diet anyway.

Thanks for the well wishes! The dr. Called in some stuff today. Gonna call the surgeon to make sure it's ok to take.

I have chipotle chili pepper, dry. Should I eat it by the spoonful? Ha. I'm only half joking! I'm willing to do anything just about!

Vitamin C, also on the list for dh.

If you're getting anything in like Soup or broth, just add it to that. Sriracha ftw!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
