dinaforeman 0 Posted February 27, 2013 Hello everyone! I am so thankful to have found this forum! So few people in my life understand what I am going through and it is great to find a place where people understand. Now I guess I should share my story. I have been heavy all my life and after many failed diet attempts, I decided to pursue weight loss surgery. After a nine month program at a very good hospital in my area and weighing my options, I decided on a VSG. My surgery was January 9, 2013 so I will be seven weeks post op tomorrow. The last few weeks have been a struggle because I seem to be in a stall, which is why I went looking for a support group. I am trying to stay positive but it is very difficult most days. I am hoping that reading all of your success stories will help me feel like this was worth it! Thanks for listening and I hope to have many conversations with you in the future. himalaya62 221 Posted February 27, 2013 Hi Dina and welcome. You came to the right place. I'm three weeks post op and was in a stall too. I realized I wasn't putting in enough walking so I have added an extra mile to my walk and I walk to the beat of my iPod and I have finally started losing again! Hooray!! I saw my doc yesterday and he told me to do the same. Our body is in shock and still trying to figure out what just happened. Stalls are normal. Just keep plugging away!! you're bound to lose!! Best of luck!

I saw my Dr. This past Friday she told me I was doing great. I lost 25 pounds post op. she asked me if I excercise every day. I told her NO. She also told me most ppll lose 7 to 10 pounds at their 2nd visits. So don t feel bad it will come off sooner or later when your body is ready. I wish you all the best. elizabethgomez 3 Posted February 27, 2013 Congrats. I had my surgery Jan. 16, 2013. I have had my moments but as long as you remember that this process is gradual and not an overnight miracle than all the puzzle pieces will start to make sense. I am 32 lbs down and truly needed to have this surgery because my methods used in the past were not working. I have had two bouts of cancer I would hate myself if I got rediagnosed because of my weight issues. So plug on and stay focused. Read your labels and get comfortable with your required Protein intake. I am here if you need to vent. God knows I am by myself in this too. That is why I joined this venue several days ago.
