Thank you. I am still trying to get all my Protein in. I am not having that crappy feeling when drinking ( I do a lot of walking in my house) maybe try that. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi, I'm 5 days post-op and am able to get all my Protein (60-80 grams)per day. When I first wake up, I start on my Protein shake. I take a tiny sip and then I walk around the house (approx. 70-75 steps) then I take another little sip and walk around again. At first it took me an hour and a half to get the shake down, but this morning it took an hour. Then I keep sipping Water until it's time for the text shake/broth. If the shakes are too thick, try watering it down or try doing a broth. I bought the unjury chicken broth and it tastes great and goes down a little easier.

Good luck with getting in your Proteins. You need them so you don't lose muscle mass.

Thin out the Protein Drink. I thin mine out with skim milk or Water. Mostly skim milk because it adds Protein. I find it really helps. I think the water just takes time it was like one day it hurt going down and the next it didn't so the last 2 days I've enjoyed drinking water and have felt better, I think I was getting dehydrated. I was sleeved on Feb 19th Good luck I'm sure it will get easier. :)

Yep. It will pass. I'm 9 weeks out and can drink without that yucky feeling. It is a process, sometimes a slow one. Everyday will get better. Welcome to the losers bench :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
