Yeah id check with your doctor. I know im in my second week and i feel the same but i wouldnt risk eating anything that can make you sick. Your stomach is still very sensative. But i know how you feel, i want a big chicken salad sooooo bad.. Or corn on the cob.. LOL

@ big change, a lot of the stuff you want to eat is mos away. Generally, no Pasta bread tortillas and such for prob 3~6 mos post. Good luck, i feel the same way. Im dying for a piece of bread. I went to Panera to get some Soup and you know how it comes with a chunk of bread, I asked her to take it out of the bag thats how much I didnt want to look at it. Good luck. It seems like time goes so fast but not for those of us waiting to have food, it creeps.

Hang in there bigchange. Let your new stomache heal. Keep eating the foods you are suppose to eat right now and dont rush it. Some of the items you have mentioned that you want to eat will be really hard on your new stomache. You can do this, keep positive and these head hunger feelings will pass soon.

I still don't eat white flour tortillas. I have one corn or whole wheat tortillas once in a while. Noodles are mostly out except for whole wheat and carb control once in a while. chips? Pretty much never - maybe a few on a special occasion. White rice and white bread are out. I will occasionally have a slice of oat or whole grain bread.

I do eat a lot of popcorn, but I think I waited 4 or 5 months.

Do not rely on restriction alone. You need to take this time to modify old easting habits that got you to obesity in the first place.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
