i see a lot of processed foods still being eaten by people who have had WLS.

i stopped eating boxed, canned, pre-prepared, processed foods more than 15 years ago. i cook whole foods from scratch. the only canned foods we eat are Beans and coconut milk. i dont hear much about people makng bone broths or juicing for post op consumption. is there anyone out there who actually cooks healthy food from scratch? id love to converse with someone about things like greek versus plain yogurt, juicing recipes that are low sugar, coconut oil consumption, avocados, fermented foods, etc.

i keep seeing recipes with splenda and fat free canned Soup. where else can i look?

Yep, see my latest blog entry.

Lots of people get wrapped up in Protein this, low carb that, and we forget to eat like normal human beings, Now, I will admit that as a college student and a nurse I am not picture perfect and some of the things I have still come out of a can but I do avoid it as best I can.

thanks for your reply. plain greek yogurt has lots of Protein and no crap, esp if you make your own with organic raw milk. i cant imagine why, if you are eating such small amounts, you would need supplemental protein, it just seems like a lot of people are trading one form of junk for another...... it just seems this kind of surgery is a perfect place to start loving your body with food that is truly nurturing, dont pass it up!

I'm doing so much better post-op. I don't ever think I'll get to the point where I have time to make my own yogurt, but I have made leaps and bounds towards a much cleaner diet. I'll be thrilled to get to the point to eat more raw vegetables - I miss them! #progressnotperfection
