QUICK BIRThDAY QUESTION

Recommended Posts

Hey , so I was sleeved on 2/20 last week yay! And my birthday is 2/28 and my BF had just asked me is there a way we can get u a sugar free low carb mini cupcake ? I was laughing so hard but I did think it was very cute and considerate .

MY question now do u think I can have a scoop of ice cream that is sugar free or something ? Or any suggestions . I would ask my doctor but don't see him till weekend to get JP removed. Thanks

You may have some lactose tolerance issues...some of us do. But yes...I think you can splurge if your tummy feels ok with it...take it slow! Happy early birthday to you!

becareful with ice cream. it is a slider food even if its sugarfree it will probably be high in fat content. maybe just 1 spoonful will not hurt unless you are lactose intolerant then you will feel crappy. happy soon to be birthday.

What exactly is a slider food??

My understanding is foods with low/none nutritional value and can easier be digested by your stomach, leaving it empty again...Like white bread. Whereas a piece of chicken will take your stomach longer to digest, keeping you feeling full longer and provides you with the Protein you need.

Go to a frozen yogurt place and get a sample cup while your bf gets what he wants. Happy Birthday.. Enjoy!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
