I Thank You For Your Words. I Would Also Like To Know Of What liquids Did You Use During The Post-Op liquid Diet? I'm Taking 1 A Day Now As Far As Vitamins Is There A Better Supplement For Energy And Others Things I Will Lack Due To The Diet?

I am surprised that your surgeon's office hasn't covered fluids yet. Every one can tolerate something different after surgery. I hope you aren't already stocked up on Protein shakes, because your taste changes. I was on pure 48 oz of Water my 1st week. I could add in 3 shakes shakes a day weeks 2&3. When I came out of the hospital I hated my previously loved Protein shake. I couldn't stomach it. So, be prepared to try new Protein Shakes again.

Again, I'm surprised that you haven't gotten a list from your doc. Yes, there are special, chewable vitamins specifically for people who have bariatric surgery. It provides extra nutrition needed. Other docs might have you also take Biotin, B-12 & Calcium with D3. At the very least get the multiple in.

This is a lot of info. No one is perfect in every area. This is like learning how to eat all over. It is good, though, because it will help us live longer & healthier lives. All the best!

I was scared too. I remember being wheeled in the operating room and staying to myself "what am I doing". Fast forward 6 weeks later, and it has been the best decision of my life, I would not change this gift I have been given to control my portions for anything. The first few weeks were rough, but nothing that you can't handle. I was in work 5 days after surgery and did fine. By three weeks out I felt totally myself and was ready to take on the world..You will do fine.. You will have lots of questions and this forum is great, so come back often, because it will get you thru.. Good Luck, your sleeve will be your friend...

Girl u will do great . Let keep it Real this is the best choice you are making . However the first 3 days are hard but after that you will be good to go. If I would have seen this earlier I woul have told u to make sure u had ur cler liquids such as sugar free Jello , yogurt sugar free also broth and especially the Protein shakes or powder for when you got home. If I need ideas or are getting board of stuff just post a new thread and there are plenty of us to give u ideas. My prayers are with you.

Goodluck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
