I know that I am supposed to watch what eat etc. However I am firmly what you would call an emotional eater, i am nervous about when I am post op transferring that method of coping over. I am working on correcting that issue but it's hard to turn off years of a method that worked (even if temporarily) I am dealing with issues regarding my ex wife lately and I have found that as my stress rises so does my urge to eat. anyone have any good tips out there for ways to curb this bad habit?

I hit the gym (a lot), it helps me with my stress. I am a stress eater with a grazer overtone. I just find things to keep me moving and occupied. I try never to sit too long in one spot and I engage in a couple of other hobbies like coaching my kids sports, doing some volunteer work and fixing stuff around the house. I've also found that after the sleeve those gnawing cravings to eat, just don't materialize as much as before hand. One thing I do suggest, is get this out of your head as much as you can before hand. It can become that crutch that would significantly screw up your progress. You've made the first step by realizing that the issue is there, you just have to hang in there and avoid the situations the best you can that cause the triggers. Hang Tough!

Emotional eating is a big problem for a lot of sleevers even though few will admit it publicly on the board. So, first off, congratulations on recognizing this pattern & asking for help. Exercise is always a great help. It is also helpful if you have someone close that you can talk to. Therapy is always a viable option. I know that my bariatric group has a psychiatrist on staff that deals specifically with weight loss surgery patients before and after surgery. OA can be very helpful. There are community meetings or online meetings. Bariatric support groups through your surgeons office should be very helpful. A lot of people are antimedication, but it has it's uses. Sometimes an antidepressant or antianxiety medication can take the edge off while you work through your issues. Hopefully some other people can give you helpful tips too. You WILL gain control over this!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
