Everything on me is starting to droop. I picked up the Jillian Michaels Kickboxing dvd and started 3 days ago. Hopefully it helps. I have a friend who had the surgery a year and a half ago and she said there are definitely times when your skin doesn't keep up with your weight loss. Hopefully it catches up!

Hi, what is a good skin firming lotion? Also, did you wait til all the stitches heal up first?

I would definitely wait till you are healed up!! I use Palmers coco butter oil and something called Sexy Belly from a website called Carols Daughter.

I use Palmers firming butter all over my body. My incisions have healed except for one, which I do not even go near with lotion. Up to now Im happy with it in terms of price, smell, and texture but its to soon for me to testify on the firming part.

In addition to various rubs and lotions, exercises that work the core (abs, obliques, etc) can work as well. I know I have really picked up the pace the past year with my squats, planks and deadlifts at the gym and it has helped my torso a good bit. I've really not had any problem with loose skin. My belly was where I was expecting to have problems with it if I did, and I think that doing lifts that engage those various core muscle have really helped fill in my tummy and harden that part of my body a lot. I guess the other thing that really helps is being young and having skin that is elastic and bounces back easily....which I don't have age on my side. So I'll just stick to the lifting.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
