Surgery in 3 days so I threw out all my fat clothes!

Recommended Posts

I have been preparing for surgery Wednesday bought all my Vitamins, Protein drinks etc. And then I went through my closet and drawers. I threw away everything I hated and had to wear becuase it would fit. I threw away most of the black, stretchy, anything that wasnt my style but comprimised to wear because it fit.

Feels so liberating! It is mentally preparing me for success and the good road ahead. I actually got rid of 2 large trash bags.

I have been raising kids and accepting the fact that I am a mom and everyone else is first, I have been sleep deprived for 17 years..lol

I dont really buy my self anything nice to wear, instead I find my enjoyment in shopping for my family, making sure they have the nice things.

I used to take such pride in my appearance and now I just want to be invisible. Hence the no pic on my profile.

Not anymore.

Good luck Jacee! My surgery is Thursday. I am excited about getting rid of the big stuff and I have some very nice things I have not been able to wear I am excited to get into. So looking forward to getting rid of the "too big clothes" and not ever seeing them again. Needless to say I have been down before and gained it back but not this time. This time they are going and not coming back!!! Again, wish you well this week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
