Why cant i eat anymore

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had the feeling where they can't eat solid food. All of a sudden this past week I can't eat I take one bite and have the fullness feeling. But I can drink no problem and eat soft foods like ice cream no problem. I have a follow up on Wednesday should I be seen sooner should I be worried??

Oddly star I have had this when constipated!

I can drink but no food. When I eat it feels like a lump or like I have eaten too much with one bite .

There are times I feel that way.

I drink my Unjury when that happens. It only happens when my body is going through its monthly for a day or 2 then I am back to normal.

If your really concerned then call your surgeon's office in the AM. You should be fine as long as you can get your Water in. :)

Yes, it happens to me every now and then. I also go through phases where I completely lose my appetite and have to force myself to eat and feel like spitting out food while I'm chewing.

I'm only about 13 days out and haven't had much that is "food". I am finding that it is hard to gauge what I can finish. I had cottage cheese and it was really difficult to choke down. Maybe just because I am new?

At thirteen days I was still on full liquids about to start pureed. Did you puree your cottage cheese? It really makes a difference so make sure you do puree during this stage. Also measure out 1/4 cup at a time.

Starr, I agree with the poster who said her inability to get food down coincided with Constipation. That happens to me too. Very frustrating. I actually get nauseous.

Im 10 days out and I was told by my nutritionist that I could star puree 8 day out. Which I thought it was weird. Only eat a bit at a time. I drink 1 oz of Water every 20 minutes and eat 1 oz every 2 hours. Just take your time eating. "Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
