About 2 wks, 3 days out? What are you eating?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! Just curious about what everyone is 'up' to since we all have different diet plans based on our docs. I can't lie, I am supposed to be on purée for another week and 3 days, but I've gone off that a little to mushy and very soft. Still doing great on weight loss... down 15 lbs since surgery :) What about you?

Sleeved 2/7. Still on full liquids until 2/28! Blended/cream Soups, drinkable yogurt, shakes... yeah, that's about it. Very boring. I am so ready for soft foods. I've never wanted cottage cheese or tuna fish so bad!

How much have y'all lost, just out of curiosity? I really wonder how much of a difference the diet makes!

I was sleeved on 2/11 and I am down about 12 lbs. I keep going up and down, it's driving me crazy. Also probably due to my period. Can't wait for that to get over so I k ow where I am really at. I too cheated and started eating soft/puréed food early, about a week post op. I can't eat much at all, about a tablespoon maybe 2. I am having a hard time getting in my fluids, since I can't drink much at a time. How long does it take you guys to drink a shake? It takes me between 45 mins and an hour.

I have lost 13 since surgery 2/7 on liquids. 23 since starting preop. I've been stalled for about a week. Fluids are going down easily... almost too easily if they're not too cold. I haven't actually eaten any food yet, but I'm kind of afraid I won't have the restrictions since liquids are going down so easily! I mostly do the Premier shakes which are pretty thin, so it takes about 45 min to finish 11 oz.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
