So I was tired of having plain beef broth so I heated up some veggie beef Soup and strained it. It is a bit thicker in consistency and boy did my sleeve let me know. I was getting a bit worried that I was taking liquids so well without any restriction. Good to have the confirmation....

It could also be that you're still very much healing. When I started the Protein Shakes I couldn't stomach the pre-mixed ones without thinning them out quite a bit. Now at 2 weeks out, they're okay straight from the box/bottle. Slowly though!

I am on day 5 and I had a thicker based Soup with no problems. I can tell when too much.

I had no problems getting it down. It was just awesome to feel the fullness for the first time since surgery. I've been taking thin liquids great but not feeling any restriction. It was cool to see that with just a bit thicker consistency my stomach noticed and told me.....I'm probably not making much sense...

Do you still supplement with Protein Drinks to get in enough Protein?

I am about 4 weeks out. I usually have about 2 oz of pureed food and get full. I think there was one time where I was able to get 4 oz in.

You are making perfect sense. You will have that experience at each stage. Or should I say I have. Best Wishes

I am almost 4 weeks post and can get around 3 to 4 oz of chicken or tuna down before my sleeve says hey, think I am done here.

I always get the hiccups when i eat too much....nice alarm clock for me :) However, I can eat more sometimes and less others. I'm sure this is common for many.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
