Awesome job thanks for sharing because for some of us men we are more chicken than women getting surgery lol

But the more I read these positive stories I feel better. I hope I can be a positive influence myself someday.

No surgery date yet it looks like February if all goes well. Ok on living in NY so you know cold ;) I normally like to take off a month after Christmas and do the snow bird thing to FL but this surgery is more important. Can you still have coffee if any or is it Decaf only?

I have a Poland Spring cooler being delivered today I got to get more Water in I'm told. Have a great day

Hey y'all!!

Long time, no talk - training for a half marathon and work has been insane lately!

My two year surgiversary was November 20th, and I tried on my old Cotton Ball dress because it was hanging in my closet, lol. (Cotton Ball is a southern cotillion ball - traditional thing with debutantes, etc. - I was 17 when I did it).

Left is from my wedding <3 that dress is a size 28; the one on the right is a size 8 (I'm a 6 generally, but bridal does run small!)

So as of March 2nd, (2 days past my 9 month surgeversary) I have reached my goal weight!!!!!! I am ECSTATIC! I never NEVER dreamed that it was possible to be this small! And even better, I feel incredible! This journey has been truly life changing! 9 months, and 111lbs lost! It doesn't even seem real!

High weight: 236

Starting weight: 223

Current weight: 125!!!

Started out at a size 16/18. Now (and this is still hard for me to believe) I am a size 3!!! I've never been a 3 in my life!

I think I owe you my life! The first time I saw your before and after photo (in the purple sweat shirt) I was considering throwing in the towel. This was costing too much money. My insurance covers something if I cover my $2500 deductible!

But when I saw your photo my husband walked past and said "Wow she looks amazing. You're going to be that small again too."

I have never been that small! Lol but my husband was trying to be supportive so when he told me to think of this as an investment. I knew I had to do it. February 6th 2017.., I can't wait!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
