9 pounds until goal!!!

Edited to add - I know my ticker says 19 pounds to goal, but I think 140 will be too small for me. so I am choosing 150 as my goal [emoji4] But man, what a difference! Loving my new life. I think 50 looks pretty good on me!

I have been comparing my before and after, there is a difference in appearance, but I still think I look like road kills My body is some smaller but my face, my face is a wreck, sallow skin, every age spot shows, my cheeks look concave, sunken in and I have now visible wrinkles, oh my PCP just loves how I look, told me so Thursday, glad he is pleased, wish I was too. Only thing I resent about my Weight loss, I look like 2 dead relatives, I don't recognize myself anymore and that is scary😥😪I have gained a reduction in weight but I have lost ME, am I a person anymore?

At the end of the day, our outward appearance is just a shell that we use to masquerade the parts of ourselves that actually matter. If you're looking in the mirror and not recognizing yourself, you're looking at the wrong parts.
Also I'm sure your PCP is correct and that you look great! We tend to be harsher on ourselves.

I haven't been on in awhile. Still loving my decision. My weight varies between 130-132 pounds now. 20190106_110539.jpeg Screenshot_20190105-020638_Cloud.jpeg Screenshot_20190101-113001_Cloud.jpeg IMG_20181227_114530_018.jpeg Snapchat-1644662803.jpeg

Thank you, I needed that, sometimes I wonder if it was a selfish self-centered whim, and then I do see parts of me regaining prominence as they used to be. I started out at 365 High weight, now I am in the mid-200s, and that is very good for me, but I can't stop myself from comparing, and when I start reading where someone else quotes a weight similar to mine too and says how ugly they felt, and I start to doubt myself when I really thought it was a good looking stage. Maybe I am ugly also?
I went to lose to the point I look as beautiful on the outside as I know I am inwardly. When the skin covering matches, I will know I have lost ENOUGH. Real goal is 175, but truly I would be satisfied with anything 199 or less.

Attractiveness is subjective. I've seen 300 pound people who I thought were gorgeous and I've seen 130 pound people who I thought were ugly, vice-versa.
I hope you find peace and happiness with the way you look in this new year!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
