I used liquid Dial antibacterial before and after on my torso (excluding my vagina)

I used my normal froufrou girls stuff everyplace else since the antibacterial is so drying and harsh.

I was given a special soap by the hospital during my EKG visit and was told to use it the night before and the morning of surgery.

Dial antibacterial soap. I'm sort of a germaphobe so I take purrell wherever I go, especially in the hospitals, you never know what you will be bringing back home with you. :(

I was told to shower with dial soap (I'm a total caress soap girl) the morning before I arrive and not to apply lotions, powders, perfumes, no makeup or jewelry.

I've never heard of having to clean with special soap, they scrub the area down real good before they cut anyway. I'm so glad my doc didn't require such things. I did have to adhere to the no jewelry and makeup rule but I didnt think they meant wedding rings so I asked the nurse if she could tape them and she said no a tech would have to cut them off so needless to say they came off right quick.

What soap did your surgeon told u to use the night before?

Hibiclens. You can get it at your local pharmacy. No prescription needed.

I had not had surgery since 2004 and quite a bit has changed. Now, a vast majority of hospitals/surgeons request that you bath with an antibacterial preoperatively to reduce the number of germs on your body. I didn't mind the one additional step.
