what skin lotion that is reasonable price and easy to apply

Recommended Posts

HI,

What skin lotion are you using? I need something that is cheaper. My husband is laid off and our only source of income. Currently I am using Walgreens brand of Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Lotion because my skin was driving me nuts with dry and itching. But the problem is that the consistency of the lotion makes it difficult to spread and rub in. I am starting to dread taking a shower because it is going to take so long after to apply the lotion.

But with the weight I have lost, I want to use lotion to avoid the need to plastic surgery. Any veterans out there who have used a lotion and found in time that it did greatly help their skin. Also how often did you use that particular lotion?

So what have you used and why?

Great question. I was wondering that myself. A fellow sleever suggested Palmer's Firming Butter. Its specifically for weightloss and for women who have just had kids. Up to now that is all I have, but would love more insight!

This my favorite cheap lotion of all times. It is creamy baby oil (looks like lotion). It goes on easy and smells like suntan oil. You can get it at Walmart or about any store.

I LOVE Palmer's cocoa butter lotion. They have one for stretch marks that I used to help with loose skin during weight loss. This is a high quality, reasonably priced lotion. You can get it a most drug/dept. stores. I got mine a family dollar..It comes in a pump that is easy to apply, (also have a tub available)...Try it you'll love it...

Jergens makes a skin firming lotion, as well. You can get it at just about any store for around $5.00

Try buying pure organic sheabutter and cocobutter whip it up with an essential oil and it will last you ages most importantly it is the most effective on getting rid of stretch marks and toning of the skin... I have lost 90lbs and still have 80lbs to go and used this mix religiously on my weightloss journey I can say it has done wonders to my skin and my stretchmarks!!! Goodluck

I would avoid lotions with petroleum-derived ingredients: mineral oil, paraffin, petrolatum, etc.

The shea and cocoa butter idea is great! You can purchase these by the pound on Etsy.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
