Halloumi is good when it's grilled with a little with lemon juice on top (opa!). I didn't think about it in the context of VSG. I'm going to pick some up!

I have never heard of it. TES, when you said grilling it is great, is the texture look Tofu? does it melt? and does it taste rich and creamy? I'm sorry for all of the questions, but I would like to know before I purchase it. Thank you:)

I haven't had it in a few years, but yes, it totally reminds me of something like a firm tofu.

In looking at this some more--that's a good Protein count, but 100 g is like 3.5 ounces, which is more than I could eat, and it's over 300 calories and 30 g of fat for that serving amount. So if you cut it down to 1 or 2 ounces, the protein amount would change accordingly. Might work for me later on but right now I think I'm better off sticking with lower fat/higher protein options like cottage or ricotta cheese or cheese sticks. I saw there is a such thing as lite halloumi, which might be worth looking into. It would be a nice change of pace.

Thank you TES, I think I will give the lite halloumi a try because I try to stay away from the sodium.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
