Help!! I'm 18 days post op and when I eat too fast I feel like I want to vomit however if I try I just cough up a wad of clear thick slime. What the heck is this? I remember someone writing something about sliming a few weeks back but I didn't question it. Is this normal? Has anyone else coughed up slime? Sorry it's so gross!

Omg! That's good to hear. I kinda freaked out about it but since it was clear I knew there was no infection, just so weird. Thank you! Gives me the heebee jeebies! Yuk!!!

Not to alarm you all but I'm 5 1/2 months out and still see slime. I totally laughed when I read your entry. My pouch still does not like certain foods. My mind tells me I can eat them and my pouch shows me it will not tolerate it today, try tomorrow. chicken for instance baked or boil or steamed can be eaten only on certain days, per my pouch. And it better be moist. I learned to listen. Or visit the toilet and call Earls. 86 pounds down and going forward. Remember this was our choice. It is a life changer. I'm just now adjusting good luck? oh and follow the 30/30 rule. No food 30 minutes before you eat and wait 30 minutes after you eat before you drink. God that was a hard one.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
