Coffee talk

Recommended Posts

I've heard mixed opinions on coffee. Of course, the nut tells us not to have any at all but I've also read some can tolerate a cup a day. Any thoughts?

Doesn't hurt the sleeve, but it's due to the caffeine in it that we should avoid it...caffeine is a hunger stimulant. Anything in moderation isn't going to totally throw you off course. Good luck!

Well you really want to listen to your Nut... I gave up coffee a couple of weeks before because they said I had too :(

but now at three months??

I buy half Decaf Beans and half regular beans and mix them. And when I have my coffee in the morning I put a little milk in there just to say I have a little Protein :)

Am I supposed to have it (coffee) no but I love my coffee in the morning!

Thanks I like the idea of half Decaf I can live with that. I just love my coffee and don't want to give it up completely.

I was told 1 cup a day is OK, not only is it a stimulant but it is a diuretic also

I have been drinking a cup of black coffee everyday since 3 weeks out. I actually use it as a pre-workout stimulant. I mix 8oz of strong black coffee with 1 scoop whey isolate and a pump or two of different Torani flavors... usually french vanilla or english toffee. Its been almost a week with no ill effects. Actually it makes me feel great during my workout and gives me an added push during cardio.

I drink coffee everyday. It's my push to get out of bed. I smell the coffee brewing and I'm up and getting a cup :)

I never drank coffee...funny because I used to be in the coffee business. I drink tea fully caffeinated. They can take away my cheezeburgers, but they ain't taking my caffeine. My surgeon thought it was a pretty good compromise and let it go. :)

I am not nor ever have been a big coffee drinker- I would have to add too many extra calories to it for me to enjoy drinking it. I do enjoy a treat of a skinny vanilla latte from Starbucks every once in awhile, though. Last one I had was Decaf, but next time I don't think I will bother with that- everything in moderation...

my nut said we can drink coffee, but it does NOT count as part of your overall Fluid intake. same with caffeinated teas.

There are a lot of GP and Sleeve patients in my support group that have coffee regularly. They claim it has had no effect on their weight loss, and having one less thing to give up actually helps them drink it in moderation. Many do things like half=caff, or skinny lattes, or nonfat milk and sweeteners.

I have a cupe every day (sometimes 2 on weekends) in the morning. I drink it fully caffienated and black. I knew I wasn't giving that up indefinately. They wanted us to wait at least 4 months - I think I made it about 5 weeks. I have no problems with it.....except I drink it pretty hot, and I can feel it in my upper intestines! I think it just runs straight through my stomach.

My surgeon allowed me to have Decaf coffee with fat-free cream right after surgery. I have about 3 cups per day. I also drink decaf herbal tea for a change.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
