How many calories are you burning on average?

Recommended Posts

Today I am 7weeks post op, & my 3rd week working out at the gym (cardio only)....I'm steady building myself up....but only averaging between 350-450 calories burned, just wondering if this is enough or what range should I be in. I usually spend about 45mins to an hour....I've been walking/running the treadmill, a few days I did the elliptical, today was the stair master ;(

I currently weigh about 180 lb (about goal weight). It fluctuates, but is still dropping 2-3 lb a week.

I exercise about 800 calories on the days when I run an hour(6 miles), 850 on the days when I run HIIT for 30 min and stair climb for 30 minutes and 900 calories on the days when I cross train on elliptical for an hour. Total is 5-6 days of exercise a week, at least 3 are running days. I do strength training 2 x a week, but am trying to get better at it.

I try and also do a jog for 5 minutes and some light weights/stretching when I first wake up because it helps me feel better when starting the day. I do not know how many calories that is. It is probably something low like 75-100 calories. My body feels so much better when I sit down for my desk job at 5:30 am and I am more alert. My exercise is usually at 9:00 am and that carries me for the rest of the day. I sleep pretty well with the daily exercise.

My calorie in take is on average 900-1000 a day, sometime a little higher on my long running days because I get more hungry. And yes, I do eat good carbs before running as to not "bonk."

Hope this helps.

Sounds like you are doing great. I find I am super hungry the next day if I burn more than 500cal, as I'm rarely getting in more than that.

If you're able to do 45 min to and hour now, you'll likely be way ahead of where I am now 3.5months out. Keep up the great work!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
