marielalovesherfamily03 6 Posted February 21, 2013 Hi, I am new at this. I have been going to all appointments so they can submit the case to insurance. Tomorrow Friday 22, I will Be going to see psych for clearance. This is what basically determines everything. I am pretty nervous. This is my story. I have been overweight all of my Life. I have utilized everything that you can purchase and more. 3 years ago I lost weight. I went from 240 to 195 going to the gym and starvation. It worked but as salon as I quit starvation. I gained all the weight back. I have decided to get the gastric sleeve even though I don't have the support of my family. They think I am beautiful the way I am and also think that I will not be able to go thru it as I had a horrible experience with my c sections 6 years ago. sroan05 27 Posted February 22, 2013 No need to be nervous for the psych eval. It's pretty simple. For mine, I had 4 booklets--full of multipule choice questions, that I had to fill out. After that, I met with the psychologist for a little bit and she asked me a few questions about my background. She concluded that I needed to see a counselor, due to some past depression issues. My counselor has to give a thumbs up before I can have surgery though. I'm 5 months into my 6 month monitoring...so I'm hoping to have surgery towards the middle of April. Anyway. We are all here to support you through this journey! This website has really opened my eyes and prepared me for what's in store.
