flmama 105 Posted February 21, 2013 I thought my case had already been submitted to insurance, but I found out from my surgeon's coordinator today that they are still waiting on the letter of recommendation and TSH results from my PCP. I called my PCP's office and they said the letter is ready to go (surgeon's office wrote it, PCP just had to sign it) on my chart, but that their medical records lady says that the request is in her queue. When I pressed about this and said it's holding up my insurance submission and surgery scheduling, Miss Medical Records says that she has 30 days to respond and that's considered 'reasonable' by law. What??? I'm so tempted just to have my surgeon write a script for TSH and run down to my local lab to have it done, but that doesn't get the letter into their hands any sooner. This is ridiculous no? Or are my expectations too high?
Takingcontrol 467 Posted February 21, 2013 The medical records person at my PCP's office said the same thing when I pressed about my records. Just try & be nice or she "accidentally" screw it up! :-(

dltrautman1 27 Posted February 21, 2013 No - I don't think you are being unreasonable. I do agree honey gets you farther than vinegar. Maybe it would help to talk to your PCP? I know my doctor made sure everything was done right away.
karen353 41 Posted February 21, 2013 I am having the same problem with my PCP. I finished my 3 month medically supervised visits with my doctor and gave him two forms I needed filled out. He said he would fax them later that day (Tues). I called my ins coordinator hoping she had the paperwork and she doesn't. She said she would call me when she got it. No call. He doesn't work Fri so it will be Mon at the earliest. How hard is it to fill out a form??? grrr As soon as the ins coordinator gets the forms she can send in my paperwork to the ins co. It is so hard to wait on people.

They cannot say you can't have them. 30 days just to get a signature?!? That's crazy.
