Tummy tuck scars.

Recommended Posts

I was wondering about that and body lift scarring also, I was looking at plastic surgery sites and everyone had scars. I'm too old to think about a tattoo to cover the scars. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

If I lose enough weight that I need a TT or any kind of nip or tuck, I'm going to be $%^&*#@ happy! LOL

I have seen YouTube videos where people have the TT scars below the bikini line (women) and they don't look too bad. Also, the arm lifts can be done so you can't see the scar unless you're sort of under the person's arm (and in that case you probably know him or her pretty well already).

I'm more concerned about being naked with my husband. He likes me now. If I lose weight and gain an ugly scar, I don't think he will be happy.

On you tube I've seen women using a cream of some sort to help w scarring and it appears to work I don't remember what it's called but it was expensive

I'm concerned about the scars too, but at the same time, I would rather have a scar than all the loose skin I'm assuming i will have. =)

Well, I have had 3 plastics consults. The scars fade alot after 1-2 years. Yes, they are still scars but they look alot better then the extra skin, in my opinion. And the excess skin looks a heck of a lot better then the fat....

Do they EVER go away? All the pics I've seen look really bad. I'm just asking.

you appear to be African American, so I will say this... we tend to scar & keloid more than other nationalities.... so I brought this up with my dermatologist... SHe specializes in this area.... while I have never had a keloid, I have had bad scarring from a simple paper cut... She says she can do microdermabrasion and/or chemical peels to the area to lighten the scarring and maybe even make it appear 100% gone...however NOTHING is guaranteed ( and it is expensive) ...

At this point in life, no one is looking at below my bikini line except my husband and my GYN and if they can handle seeing me naked at nearly 300 pounds, they can surely seal with me being UNDER 150 lbs ( where I plan to be when I get a TT) with a lil scarring....

I simply want to be able to wear a dress without 3 pairs of Spanx

Im with you on that.. I have no prob with a scar nor does my hubby.. but if that will get me into a one piece suit that looks great.. who cares.. I will be happy to weigh 150lbs.. not a problem and with all the extra skin and fat gone.. a small price to pay..and a reminder to not let that happen again.. skinny forever.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
