PJ_Sleeve 45 Posted February 21, 2013 So, here I am...Almost six months out and I have been going up and down with the same ten pounds for two months. It is sooo fustrating. With the band I lost over 100 lbs. Then I gain back 112 lbs with the band. Now I had VSG...I am down 67 lbs and I have been STUCK. I will fess up that I don't always make the right food choices and I have been sort of lazy. But in the past couple of weeks, I have been kicking up the activity and trying to be more mindful of what I am putting in my mouth. But here I go back to the old eating habits with the band..."YES PLEASE I WILL TAKE A PIECE OF chocolate." "SURE, I WILL HAVE A LATE NIGHT SNACK." "SHALL I HAVE THE PIECE OF fruit OR SHALL I HAVE A MINI SANDWHICH?...NEITHER WILL DO...I WILL HAVE SOME ICECREAM." Okay...so I know where my shortfalls are. I need to get in control. I did not have my stomach REMOVED just to FAIL AGAIN!!! OKAY...I NEED WORDS OF WISDOM from my fellow friends. WHEN YOU GOT TO THIS POINT, WHAT DID YOU DO TO KICK UP YOUR MOMENTUM? HOW DID YOU GET BACK ON TRACK? Looking forward to your stories and advice!!!
COnative 192 Posted February 21, 2013 Hi :-) I was at a plateau for a month and then started losing again after I added one more day of workouts and did a dietary change. For one month, and my hubby's doing it with me, we cut out alcohol, caffeine, dairy, gluten, corn and soy. I know, it doesn't sound very fun but I dropped five pounds in a week and have kept it off for the following two weeks. I am hoping it has jump started my losing again. We'll see. Losing weight is still tough! Tougher than I thought it would be with the sleeve. I will lose if I stay under 1000 calories per day but as soon as I am up around 1200 - I either stay the same or gain a little. Oh well. It was still worth it. I hope you start losing again soon. All the best.
stomlin75 161 Posted February 21, 2013 Sounds like we are both dealing with the same kind of issue. I sometimes make choices I wish I hadn't - old habits die hard. One thing I have learned is not to beat yourself up about it though but rather to learn from it and move on. My weight loss is slow and I have just accepted it that way. I am just trying to find peace with "right now", each moment being a new moment to appreciate because right now, I am not what I was a few months ago. There are a ton of ways to kick things up into gear and they work. It seems to me that you pick one thing and try it out. Little steps to form small changes will lead to bigger changes. Try not to overload and take it all on at once. It makes the issue so big and impossible - at least from my point of view anyway. My goal this week is to drink a lot of Water. Until I have that mastered, I am not moving on to my next goal - plan all my meals at least 1 day ahead so I can stick to it. While I know that this is what will help me be much more successful, the Water is more essential for my health. Maybe make a list, prioritize and than implement slowly. You got this. It's a tool and we need to use it to our advantage. Stay in touch!! Steph
