I am in a 3wk stall. Not one lb lost or gained. My calorie intake is approx. 800, my Protein about 70 still struggling to reach 82. I do a 3 mile walking tape 5 days a wk. I drink a 32oz water bottle twice daily. I am taking my Vitamins daily and not losing.

I've read about a stall at 3 weeks on another forum and although frustrating seems pretty typical. The talk on that forum is to increase Protein. Good luck to you.

Yeh, I'm there now.... I was loosing around 1.5-2lbs per day but for the last week, nothing! Aargh! Lots of posts here say that it happens, and it passes, so I think it's just something we'll have to put up with!

I was told to expect a stall with about every 30 pounds I lost. Just trust the process. 800 calories is not enough to maintain your weight. You have to keep reminding yourself of that. So do I. It's like my mantra lately because I had a stall that basically lasted from a week after surgery to the begining of my 4th week post op.

800 calories is not enough to maintain your weight

800 calories is not enough to maintain your weight

800 calories is not enough to maintain your weight

800 calories is not enough to maintain your weight

I chant that like a crazy person to myself every time I get all frustrated and worked up.

Be patient :) One of the main things that I've learned during this journey is to be patient. One of the most important things that I noticed before surgery is that there are several different types of losers lol. You have the slow losers, the sprinters who make it to goal in 6 months, the sprinters who putter out when they get within 30 pounds of there goal weight, slow and steady losers, etc. I for some reason before surgery expected to be a sprinter...........um didn't happen lol. I'm a slow and steady loser, averaging about 1-2 pounds a week. I could of NEVER of done this without the sleeve, hell I tried for YEARS. I also had to remind myself that the weight didn't come on over night, so I shouldn't expect for it to all vanish instantly :) Also don't compare your journey to others. This is your journey and try to learn as much as you can and deal with the mental part as you lose. I always remind myself that it's not a race.

Stalls definitely happen. I was sleeved 8/27/12 and have lost over 100 lbs. my first stall was a couple weeks after Christmas. I lost nothing for over 3 weeks. I freaked out and started panicking. Then this last weeks he weight just seemed to fall off. In 9 days I've lost 14 lbs. Just keep your focus it will pass.

I'm nearly 3 months out and have dropped 58 pounds as of yesterday. in those three months, I've had three stalls that lasted around two weeks each. So, don't fret... they happen and they pass :)

Well this is my first post here. I'm 5 1/2 months out. I've lost 86 pounds so far. The stalls are real and you reach your first one about 2 to 3 months out. I'm a member of another forum from day one post op and just like they said it happened. I was so depressed, it lasted for two weeks or more. Note we lose more than weight, we lose harmones ladies and muscle if we are not active. Next even if you take your Vitamins and drink your Protein Shake. Next is the hair lost. Notice given again from another forum. It's happening to me. But they also sais it grows back. I'm taking 10,000 mils of Biotin. It's helping a bit. Or it might be in my mind. As far as the calorie intake. I know to lose the weigh that you must stay under 600 cals. No it's not enough to live off of. By my 2 oz stomach will not holdall that food and liquids in one day. Or I will be calling Earls in the toilet. I remind myself that I didn't go through this for nothing. And to listen to my pouch. I must lose this weight. Period. Good luck to everyone. This is indeed a journey.

Hi there welcome! Congrats on your weight loss so far! Though I'm a bit concerned by your calorie in take. Staying under 600 calories a day, especially at over 5 months out seems low to me. Did your NUT tell you to stay under 600? The number I see aimed for during the weight loss stage is usually 600-800 a day. Your body could be in starvation mode taking in under 600 calories a day. Now that your a little further out try bumping them up a bit.

Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
