Implants or breast reduction?

Recommended Posts

I have gone from a c cup to a pre teen sports bra and have so much sag that when I bend over my boob skin hangs about 7inches down. I have no breast tissue as when I'm lying on my back, all I can feel is ribs.

I know that the scars from a reduction are much worse that those from implants, but I'm not really comfortable with having fake boobs.

Also, I breast fed my daughter until she was 1 year old. If I had a reduction, would I still be able to do that with subsequent children? Or would I be able to do that with the implants?

I'm fine with being flat chested, I just really HATE the saggy deflated balloons hanging off me. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like for them to not sag so much, or actually, even at all.

I don't think you would benefit from just implants since there is so much skin. I had a reduction in 1996. The scars never bothered me. But if breast feeding is a concern, there is no guarantee you will be able to again as some of the mammary glands are removed. But I don't think a reduction is what you need it's a lift and implants. I am no medical professional but I think with those two you would still be able to breast feed as they are only removing excess skin. The scars are exactly the same as a reduction but no tissue is removed, just skin.

Have you considered a lift instead? This may be the route I go in a couple years. I'm not quite to goal yet, and I'm looking to have kids... so, before I do any rearranging of saggy bits, I want to be done with the kiddo thing.

Gonna follow this thread for sure, since I'm in research mode myself.

I'll have to look into a lift. I think I would need a lift and implants at if they were to remove all the excess skin alone, there would be nothing at all left.

Talked with an obgyn and lactation specialist, you can get implants BUT you should wait at least 4 years before breastfeeding again. To leery things settle and your body adjust. So I will have amazing fake boobs when I become pregnant but still breastfeed exclusively.

Thanks heaps. Do you mind me asking how much? I'm in Australia so will get prices over here, but still interesting to know what everybody else will pay. Implants alone cost about $12,000 here or $4,000 in Thailand, plus airfares.

I had a Breast reduction in 2004. You can't even barely see my scars. As far as breast feeding I truly don't know that answer. A reduction isn't what you need by the info in your post though. It sounds as if you need a lift. You look amazing in your photo! Congrats.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
