FullofGRACE 0 Posted November 17, 2006 'There is a list in pre op post op questions section I used it last week. I will tell you that the gauze pads I'll never use...my mother inlaw is a wound nurse and the incisions should be left open and nothing put on them. Stool softener was also on that list and I had diarrhea so I did have to run out for Immodium. Other than that I'd go by that list.
Woodys 0 Posted November 17, 2006 You will probably be given post-op material which will include the post-op diet of Clear liquids, liquids, mushies, and solids. I would shop for the liquids and Clear Liquids before surgery...like chicken consome, sugar free Jello, etc. Here are some other helpful items: a pill crusher, chewable gas tablets (or strips), bottled Water (medication made my mouth really dry). piercedqt78 658 Posted November 17, 2006 Here is my list: heating pad flexible ice pack liquid tylenol (they make adult strength) chewable or liquid gas-x a few books or movies comfy clothes (loose waisted shorts or jumpers, elastic waist pants) squishy pillow for car ride (guard against seatbelt) a sports bra (doc said no underwire for a few days) protien shakes flavored water make sure you have a good blender I bought a drink mixer for the protien mix (cost $10 at walmart) broth or stuff to make broth sugarfree popsicles and jello sugar free gum (ask your doctor) sugar free breathmints (ask your doctor) *Ask at your pre-op for the pain med prescription so you can have it all ready to go when you get home, our walgreens has to order liquid pain meds and it takes 3 days to get them. ~Mandy
