It's all done . I prepared for the worse but I swear I am completely fine. The only thing is I can't drink yet cause I need to take some type of test this morning. But over all I thought his would be worse and I feel great I have been walking and walking just to get the stomach moving and gas. I'm almost scared because all I feel is my stomach sore. But I must say the fucked up part is that I was put in a room with someone who can eat and this is not only a bariatric floor and boy she was eating her butt away at dinner and just chewing Snacks in the night and asking the doctors At 1am to heat up her brownie . Seriously lady go to bed . Is it normal for ur stomach to be swollen like if u are prego ?

My stomach looks like I'm pregnant with twins and hard as a rock. I guess the surgeons fill you with air during surgery. I guess it's gas and that's why it's important to walk and move.

My roomie ate chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, and green Beans for dinner. It smelled good, but all I could think was pain when I looked at it. So far all I've been able to consume is about one ounce of apple juice. It tasted good but I don't line the way it feels in my stomach.

There is a special place in the darkest recesses of Gman's mind where personified catheters are hung up with chains and tortured night and day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
