Yep, can relate! I want that piece of pizza, but I'm buggered if it will fit in!
Just take things easy and your recovery will continue to go well.

I'm doing well.. I have lost 10kgs not to bad in 5 weeks, considering the stupid stall I had.

It gets easier, and I'm learning what, when and how much to eat. food is becoming not so much of a focus anymore.

I put on a jacket this morning as I am desperate for something warm to wear to the footy. All my jackets were way too small.

I was gobsmacked when it actually fit! No tightness in the arms, or across the back, and I could even do up the buttons. It's one of those 'NSV's' that I read about all the time, and it feels good!

I found a cauliflower base for pizza - might allow you to have one piece :)! Just cauli cheese and egg - bake it a little and then pop your toppings on!

That's so good about the jacket! I can't wait for some of those victories!

I'm doing okay! I made meat pies for my auntie and uncle tonight and then had my soup!

Hope your weekends gone well :)

He was fine... Informative and not pushy or judgy so that was nice. He seems to know what he is doing;)

Hi Everyone

I have just booked in to get a Sleeve by Jon Armstrong at Hollywood Private Hospital. My op date is the 3rd of November. I'm a little nervous but excited. My surgeon has asked that I do a month of Optifast before surgery so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into that! Can anyone tell me about their experience at Hollywood Hospital? Thanks!

Hi JLaw78

I had my surgery with Jon Armstrong at Hollywood 18 months ago. Everything went well & he was excellent as were the nursing staff.

I have reached my goal weight & must admit I' could probably loose a bit more if I exercised but I just hate it & just never seem to find the time, I do walk a bit as in parking the car a bit further away....

As for food I can eat anything & still have a few treats but if I do it's only a little so it's not a problem.

It's the best thing I just wish I had done it years earlier.

Good luck but you don't need it you will be fine.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
