Who all is having surgery next week? I leave Sunday for surgery Monday and have been having anxiety attacks. I'm getting nervous, can't wait for the surgery to be over and to be back home. I know it'll be worth it in the end it's just the day prior to surgery and surgery day that make me the most nervous! What's everyone doing (or have done) to remain calm in those final days?

I leave Tues for surgery Wed. Im a wreck! My bf was too busy doing laundry to come help me do yard work & get my house ready, my other male friend was too hungover to help me & my gf keeps making jokes that hit me wrong & when I asked her to stop or tone them down because I'm extremely sensitive right now she got upset told me to not take it that way. So my support system is non-existent now. I feel like I'm in this alone..mom never even considered going with me. I guess if anything, I got God & you all! Hugs to those needing it right now!

The VST Mexi-Sleevers are here for you! Don't let others get you down. You have no control over their actions/reactions. Focus on what you can control... And what you are finally able to take control of with this journey! Best of luck and a safe surgery!!

Most of my friends and family are neutral but some feel it is their duty to inform me of their opinions. We are all here for you, girl.. Don't let them get you down.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
