Hey Kelley - Welcome to LBT and congratulations on your new band. Making it through the liquid stage can be rough! Feeling a bit hungrier though is normal, as the swelling in your stomach from surgery has probably now gone down.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away. That's what we're all here for

Welcome Kelley and congratulations on your banding! You might want to find the November bandsters thread somewhere here, too, as there will be others who were banded around the same time.

Hello and welcome Kelly,

I hope everything is going well for you and yes from what I went through it is very normal. You need to just concentrate on healing and not worry at all about how much you can eat for now. It will all come in time and once you get good restriction it will not at all be a problem. Just wanted to say hi and congrats.

Hi Kelley, Congrats on the band. I was banded on Nov. 10 06. My Name is Kelley too, I'm from Calif. but i had my surgery in Mexico. I get my first fill on 12/22'06. I am eating practically anything i want right now. I am staying away from hard foods like chips and steak. I can't wait to start losing. Remember it is a slow process but well worth it .Take Care,:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
