You know, just in case I took an extra dose of Iron last night! Lol! I usually forget my Iron, and to be honest it is the weird aftertaste that makes me want to forget taking it. hahaha....... I am 9 months out. Do you still tale chewable? or how do you take it?

Yeah' date=' it's crazy. I was always the warmest person in the room. I lived in Colorado for awhile and my friends would always ask to exchange gloves with me while skiing because they knew they would be toasty. My wife would always be "on me" trying to get warm.

Now, the tables have turned. I am always cold. One of the small negatives of the weight loss, but worth it.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is due to extra skin in so much as our skin is no longer stretched out. I think a younger person who wasn't obese for long who lost the weight and doesn't have the extra skin, may also have the same problem. From what my Dr said, I'm guessing any person whose skin was tight and no longer is may have this.[/quote']

Hahahaha. ...... Its amazing how our bodies have changed in so little time!!! right?! I remember laughing at people who wore real winter jackets! and now I look like I live in Alaska all the time. :)

I also read/heard somewhere, that the hunger-hormone (grehlin-not sure if spelled correctly) that is released in the stomache has been mostly removed during the surgery and that it plays a part in temperature regulation. Don't know if it's true, or how it works, just remember hearing this somewhere... I'm freezing right now!!!

Hi! :)

It does have a weird icky after taste... Stats with you for a while. I take chewable iron every other day. My dosage is 29mg. I should take it every day but I do better every other day lol

I take chewable for my multi Vitamin as well. I take flinstone complete chew. I just take double the dose.

:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
