15 weeks post op and stalled 5 weeks w/pics

Recommended Posts

I had my VSG surgery on Nov 6th, 2012. ( 15 wks post op) Counting pre op I have lost a total of 60 lbs, 20 of that before surgery. For the past 4-5 weeks I haven't lost a pound and I actually keep fluctuating a few lbs. So far on my journey I haven't had much difficulty, except for the 3 week stall at 3 weeks out. I can eat pretty much anything I want and I was still able to loose. I am looking for suggestions to start really working on jump starting my weight loss again and start focusing more on myself. I have started to exercise a few times a week and I am trying to drink more Water. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You lost 60 pounds! That is something to Celebrate right there! All I can say is work your way up to more exercise. Eat more Protein and less crap. Lol....you know how to do it, now use that tool!

As far as losing faster....I took a little longer then most to lose....and I still have 20 to go, but because I lost slowly I don't have extra skin problems. My arms and thighs look great. The only place that I have extra skin is my tummy, and that's because I have 3 babies and they stretched me out. Take your time, let your body adjust. :)

Good luck to you!

Have you added in exercise? and if you already exercise, maybe varying it will help. 60 pounds is still doing great!

Thanks everyone. I am very proud of what I have lost so far. I am just looking for tips to help me break this stall. I have been at this same weight for over a month now. It is just frustrating. Thanks for all the kind comments.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
