Soreness after tge treadmill

Recommended Posts

I was doing my daily vigorous walk on the treadmill and all of a sudden I started to feel this shooting pain by my belly button. I don't have a fever, I'm not feeling nauseous ( ate dinner fine) but this pain is not going away. Could I have pulled something? Ripped something? I'm freaking out a bit cause this pain is internal on the left side of my belly button and I have no clue what it could be. I am 3 weeks post op. Help!

You prob over did it. I is really important to exercise, however you really can't over do it. If it continues to hurt I would contact your doctor. I would rest and take it easy for the next few days.

The three surgeons I spoke to all recommended no vigorous exercise for 8 weeks post op. Light walking only. If you're having pain, give your surgeon a call and ease your mind.

vigorous walk on the treadmill

MLCT

I would call your doc about the pain - "he" is the only one that can tell you what has happened, or has not happened - and what to continue to do in your future recuperation

at 3 weeks PO - i was told i should/could walk - but no other exercise for awhile

remember you just had major surgery!!!!!

your tummy needs a rest

slow down!!!!!

gotta learn to walk before you can run

the only "vigorous" anything i did 3 weeks PO - was take a 90 minute power nap!!!

take care

feel better

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
