Quantity Question

I'm a year out and I eat 2 oz of solid Protein and a couple of bites of green Beans. I can eat 1/4 of a burger no bun. Things like Soup is a different story I can easily eat a cup. I cannot tolerate bread, Buns, Pasta or rice which is ok with me.

I was sleeved on Jan. 15th and find solid foods a bit heavy. Kind of feels like it gets stuck. Much easier to eat soft foods at this point. I did eat a few bites of chicken today ~ just made sure I chewed really well.

I am 5 weeks out and i can eat 3 turkey meatballs or 1 piece of tilapia (I buy the frozen individually packaged ones) I ate a boneless skinless chicken thigh today with no problems. I can't have any sides with my meals though.

I am 5 weeks out and am having problems with fish that is any way remotely solid even when flaked into little bits. It doesn't help that I am having a hard time knowing when I am full. I take little bites, chew well, and go fairly slow. Any advice?

I am 4 weeks out and can have one egg, or a mini baybel cheese with a slice of turkey. I can have a couple bites of chicken or fish but here's what I do so I don't get sick (warning it's kind of gross!): I chew and chew and chew without swallowing then when I want to swallow or when the food is sliding down my throat, I 'pull' the food up from my throat and back into my mouth to chew more and make it into a paste. If I get a piece of meat that can't be pulverized enough I *discreetly* spit it into my napkin. Have yet to get sick or anything with this method. Hope this helps!

I was wondering this exact thing today! I actually sent a message to my NUT about it. It's amazing how much I can eat varies so much depending on what the food is.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
