Hi ! My name is Pamela B. and I THINK I'm having a JULY surgery

You're doing great! What does your doc say about your thirst? I think 43 lbs is a great loss. I drink before I eat just not while I eat. I tried one time and almost had a problem. Don't be discouraged. Do you walk or bike ride? If you already have a normal exercise routine then add an extra workout every week or 10 mins longer to what you're already doing. That should stir up more weight loss. I'm proud of you. Just remember that everyone has their own pace. In 6 months you'll be under 200! It's the destination and being able to stay there. Not how fast you get there. You got this! I will pray for your continued success and unwavering focus on the goal. Blessings!

Thank you so so much for your thoughtful reply. I haven't told my doctor about the thirst yet, but I'm scheduled to see him next week. I really should bump up my exercise more. Thanks again for your inspiring post, I sure hope that I'll be under 200 lbs by next summer!!

Hi everyone. What's been going on out there with my fellow July 2013 sleevers? Any news to tell? For myself, I have my 6 mo follow up this coming Tuesday. Last I checked I was @ 170. I'm hopeful to be @ 168 for my appointment. That will be 80lbs down. I've had one very short stall for just a week. Otherwise no eating or any other issues whatsoever. Exercising from time to time but I plan to join Curves in March when they have the free joining food drive. I know Curves worked for me several years ago before I got sick & gained all my pre lap-band weight and then some. So what's funny to me is that I'm actually considering changing my goal weight from 148 to 135. I like the thought of having "play" room on the scale for fluctuations. Any thoughts?

Hi!! Congrats on your weight loss! You have done well ;) I am down to 187 from 246. So that's 59 pounds. My goal is 150, I'm 5'4. How tall are you?

My surgery was July 16 2013, almost 6 months ago... The day of surgery I was 206 pounds and size 14. I know doesn't sound big but the looks don't lie. ;)

Today I am size 6, I weight 159 pounds, total of 47 pounds gone gone gone, I been lucky or I should say I been bless because not issues at all. I had couple stalls, I knew this could happen so I just kept my chin up and continue with the program. This been a great choice...the best choice, nice to have this tool... I am so happy with myself...counting my blessings everyday. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
