Don't do it! It's so not worth it. First of all, those food we used to eat don't taste anywhere as good as they used to, and also, they tend to make sleevers feel sick. I do have a sweet treat every once in a while, so do treat yourself, but not to cakey type things - they'll make you feel yucky! I eat a very tiny amount of ice cream every once in a while. I did have a cupcake for someone's birthday the other day and I felt like crap! I do understand the craving. Take care! And congrats on your AWESOME weight loss!!!!

I keep some Healthy Choice frozen greek yogurt in my freezer for when I feel I need a snack. It is pretty tasty.

I don't buy things that I shouldn't eat. When I was really craving carb Snacks, I made sure to keep some protein-filled stuff in my pantry. I had chips that had Protein in them as well as pretzels that I bought online. I also found Protein Bars like the Atkins Mudslide was tasty and filling.

Carbs creep in, seriously. I did SBD/Atkins for a long time and eventually the carb deprivation just gets to you and it's really hard to not go back to the carbs you loved, which, for a lot of us are the really bad for you carbs. I'd suggest trying to find some low-er carb stuff that's at least somewhat good for you so that it doesn't become a habit again.

I try to delay my cravings at least a couple days. I figure if I still want it 3 days later, then I should probably have just a little.

Thank goodness they don't make twinkies anymore......HoHo's either....I'd be a real gonner than....LOL '

Ask yourself if you really want that carb or is it head hunger. Mine is pretty much head hunger so I try to avoid those carbs...

For me, the best thing is to just plain out right not buy them.....Eat something that has Protein. I usually eat nuts or a piece of fruit. then get busy and do something physical to get your mind off it.... Look how well you've done up till now, keep going, you are going to reap the benefits... :) You can do this....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
