I'd say anything but a cruise. Cruises are all about food. Lol

I am down!! I haven't had the surgery yet, but I will shortly(hopefully). I dont think a cruise is the best bet because of the food, but anything else sounds great!! Are you going to try to work this all out?? I hope so and keep in mind, most vacations have group discounts depending on how many parties attend...

P.S If you guys do decide on a cruise as the way to go, I can still help. I booked cruises as a travel agent and can probably find some great deals and even apply my travel agent discount..

I was thinking May or June 2014? Weather should be great! I agree the food on a cruise would be counterproductive.

Resorts or condos? All-inclusive would be nice.

I'm in! And I know some cool condos with great prices in La Conchas' date=' MX. Not a tourist attraction, but I'm not a touristy type of person[/quote']

I like places that aren't touristy as well. That's why we avoid Myrtle Beach and OBX for our family vaca.

I know of tons of villas that are priced really well, if you have groups they are cheaper than hotels and may/June they are even cheaper as high season is dying down. There are plenty to choose from all around Puerto Vallarta and surrounding areas.

Forget all those places, come to Australia and stay with me. I know all about what we can eat and we have the best beaches in Australia. We also have some pretty good life-guards.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
