outrigger42 58 Posted February 18, 2013 I am not a foodie but have gained 100 pounds after being started on some meds known to cause weight gain. My Doctor recommended WLS after mutilple failed attempts at weight loss. Unlike others here who have lost and gained, I have never lost an ounce. I am scared I will do a drastic surgery and not lose the weight. Is there anyone out there who had surgery for the same reason, and did you succeed?
PdxMan 4,292 Posted February 18, 2013 When we have the sleeve surgery, we have 85% of our stomach removed. It is basically impossible to consume anywhere near the number of calories we did prior to the sleeve. I can tell you beyond any doubt that it is absolutely impossible not to lose weight after having the sleeve. Can you gain weight after? I am sure some folks who drink shakes all day and eat cr@p will do their darndest to gain weight. But if you have any inkling of your emotional issues with weight, this will not happen to you. You will lose weight with the sleeve. I personally guarantee it.
