josh d 0 Posted February 19, 2013 Lots of pain and it hurts to sip.
mom2five 292 Posted February 19, 2013 It is normal for it to hurt when you sip. Just take small sips, it will get better each day. Where do you hurt? I noticed that if I took the pain meds, I got really nauseous. Walking a lot is the best thing for the pain, especially if it is gas. But, even pain from surgery lessens if you walk around often. Do you have anyone there to help you?
josh d 0 Posted February 19, 2013 Yes my wife is here. I have a drain in that's where it hurts the most. I've been up walking about every two hours. I also experienced the nausea but they gave me something for it .
mom2five 292 Posted February 20, 2013 The drain was my worst problem too. I could not wait to get that thing out. They will remove it at your first appointment after you go home. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt. I worried about that. LOL.. Do you have staples? I did.. but some other people only had steri strips.
josh d 0 Posted February 20, 2013 Yep I have staples. I have been walking every couple hours but it doesn't seem to help.
mom2five 292 Posted February 20, 2013 Is it just the incisions that are hurting? It does hurt to get up and move around but it really helps you in healing. The more you do it, the faster you will heal. Every day gets better. Actually, in the hospital, I just wanted to go home. By the time I left there, I could get around ok, and sit up on the chair for a while instead of being in the bed, but I still felt sore and bad... after coming home, I improved so much faster. Will you go home tomorrow?
